Let us tell you about the URGENT donor community and how you can join.
Just to be as transparent as possible, we want to make it clear that we do not collect money ahead of time to be spent on some later project at some undefined point in the future — the way most charities do.
We maintain a pool of donors from the UK and from all over the world who have expressed their willingness to help Ukraine, people who are just as passionate as we are about providing urgent and efficient aid to those who need it most. Now that you’re here, we know you feel the same.
Once we receive a request for aid and we verify it, we reach out to one of our donors and inquire about their readiness to provide for this specific cause. The inquiry contains a thorough description of precisely what the money will be used for. There are no extraneous fees (or hidden costs) in our project budgets, since URGENT’s administrative expenses have been covered a priori by a single donation designated for that purpose. Every penny we ask for will be spent on the charitable cause for which it was intended.
When a donor agrees to support a specific project, they sign a donation agreement and transfer the funds. Immediately after, URGENT begins to implement the project.
Once we have delivered the aid in question and completed the project, we present the donor with a comprehensive report, including numbers, documentation and photos.
We are proud to say that most of our donors are so satisfied with the process (and of course, the result!) that they stay to help with future projects as well.
FAQ
Can I specify the type of project I’m willing to support?
Yes, when filling out the donor form, you can select from several options: medical equipment, food, medicine, hygiene products or just any project created to help the people of Ukraine.
Do you collect money by crowdfunding?
Our URGENT help model does not allow for collecting small donations over a long period of time — which is usually the case with crowdfunding. Therefore, we are only able to accept larger donations that would cover a project in full.
How much money does an URGENT project require?
Project costs vary depending on the cause and can cost from £3,000 to £300,000. When agreeing to join the donor community, you will be invited to define your maximum donation amount.
How will I know when and how my donation was used?
Before you donate we provide you with comprehensive information about the project. And once it’s completed, we will send you an exhaustive report, containing financial data (including receipts and other documentation), a step-by-step description of the aid and delivery process as well as photo documentation, provided the situation on-site allows us to make them.
